Mitzi Baker, a native of Newport Beach, California, began her creative
career as part of the Vidal Sassoon Academy's core art team. At Sassoon, Mitzi was schooled in the "less is more" philosophy as she explored the utilization of geometrical shapes and simplicity, themes that would become the central components of her handbag design ideas. Mitzi began her leather career under Mauricio Orzorio, a fifth-generation master shoemaker, who trained the designer in the art of handcrafted shoe design. When Mitzi extended her leather work into handbags the MITZI BAKER collection was born.
